This portrait of a fellow artist was commissioned
by a mutual friend, another artist. Frank was a kindly gentleman
with a British accent and wit, and he liked to wear a blue sweatshirt
with white letters spelling out VISITOR. He died after a long illness,
and I painted him wearing that familiar sweatshirt. Though you can't
see the word screenprinted on the front, the blue is there, and
people who knew him would put the color and the title together,
and remember.
